My old brush hog died this past weekend. I need to get one in the next week or so. I like the cost of King Kutter. I am also considering Landpride & Woods as well. The brush hog is for my b7800. I plan to buy a 5' mower. I would appreciate any thoughts/experiences on any of the three.

I worked a Howse 5' bush hog behind my old TE20 for nearly 15 yrs without any major problems. I'd cut about 3 acres every two weeks with it. I'd grease the pivot wheel and u-joints every other cutting and sharpen the blades once a yr.
It developed one small rust through hole in he deck after 13 yrs of outside storage but it wasn't in a spot to where it effected it's operation. I sold it long with the tractor.

I've got a 30 year old 5 ft. Woods Dixie Cutter. Bought it new. It was their standard duty 5 footer at the time.

Used it to mow about 15 acres, twice yearly. Some of it was grown up to sumac and small ash. Anything much over an inch was really too much for it, but it took the abuse well. Pulled it with Ford 2000, JD40 and Ford 4000.

About 6 years ago the deck started cracking around the gear box. Dad welded it up and added some reinforcements. The deck cracked a little more and then stopped. It's been a second string player since I got a Woods Brush Bull 720 last year. Still nice to use behind the smaller machines though. The Brush Bull is a heavy beast.

You will do fine with a King Kutter. For the $’s they are tough to beat. I have a over 6 year old, 6 foot KK that is still like new, never have had the slightest hint of a problem.
Now for a finish mower I’d put several in front of King Kutter. KennyV.

I have a 4-ft King Kutter brush hog (the yellow one). Works fine. $675 at Tractor Supply Co. last June.

You have to remember to add gear oil to the gear box since it's shipped dry.

It comes with the 3pt disassembled for shipping. I had to bend several of the steel braces to get the bolts to line up with the holes. Not a hard job since the steel is pretty soft. Just a minor irritation. I'm one of those folks who think that the manufacturing should be good enough that the holes line up. How hard is that on something as simple as a 3pt hitch?
