Hi,
I'm new to this forum, but I am interested in many of the topics on this forum. I have a log splitter with a 10 Hp motor. It is a homemade splitter and the pump went up on it. I can't read any info on the pump and I need to replace it. What size pump should I get, and should it be a 2 stage or what?
Thanks
Larry

Welcome to the forum. :welcome:

I'm going to move your thread to where it is more likely to be seen. Best of luck!

16gpm, 2 stage pump will go nicely with 10hp motor.

Andy,
Thanks for the help. I was having a problem trying to figure this out. The old pump had no marking on it.

Just remember you have to get a 'bell housing' that the pump mounts on one end, and fits your engine on the other. Don't buy a pump unless you can get that piece as well.

My pump came from Northern Hydraulics.

How did you determine the pump was bad? The reason I ask is because the pump is the least likely thing to go bad on a splitter. A damaged pressure relief in the control valve, a slipping coupling between engine and pump , low fluid level , or bad seals in the cylinder are the usual culprits for splitter failures.
