Broadcast on profile search?

Muhammad -- I like the profile search functionality, i.e., the ability to search for others who have the same tractor as me. But how about taking it one step further by allowing a broadcast private message to that sub-set of TBN members? I could see this coming in real handy when I have a specific question about repairs etc that pertain only to my particular tractor.

Hmm ... that would get rather complicated, since we don't have users defined by a more specific pre-defined field in those profiles. As an example, we don't have a drop-down list of tractors makes to assign to a user, or models, or locations ... so since it's user-defined it would be, like I said, complicated... if realistically possible at all. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Sounds a lot like what I do at work. They give me software, and I find ways to break it! PeopleSoft sends me hate mail!

My wife works with peoplesoft as a finance systems analyst.. but I don't think she goes out to break it , the managers that want this or that do well enough on their own , trying to make / do things it can or will not do ,

Production management and production planning are my modules, and to be fair they're pretty robust if used as designed.

Actually, the superusers I support do the breaking, and it's my job (part of it, anyway) to replicate the issues, document and either fix or submit the the global support center. Sometimes it's laughable. One receiving error, for instance, was replicated only after I blew thru 16 different error messages!!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif The user admitted he may have ignored "a few warnings" and had no idea what they said since he just kept clicking OK.

So sometimes it's the software, sometimes it's the user. But it's always a challenge! And it's job security. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
