Branson 6225h
Hi there people, tractor virgin here! I have just acquired a 6225h (Australian model, 60hp HST 25 series)and was wondering if anyone knows the aftermarket brands\part numbers for the various filters (oil, hydro transmission, hydro pto\fel, fuel) I think I found the air filters already but am unsure if the filters mentioned in other TBN Branson posts are OK for the 60hp (the ones mentioned were lower HP units)?
Cheers,
Greg

Can't help you with aftermarket filters but I would avoid them at least for the hydraulic filter. There are some cases that the owners burned the hydraulic pumps due to some aftermarkets filters that had a check valve inside, preventing the pumps from getting oil.

I saw a video last year from a trade show that had a 6225 sitting in the Branson display. Very interesting...

I'm assuming that it's turbocharged, to make 60-62 hp?

How about posting a couple pics, and maybe a write up of your new tractor?

PTSG: Yes, I saw that in one of the forums...will have to remember to investigate that when the 50h comes up.
Cheers,
Greg

Slowpoke: Have only put a few hours on it so far practicing but no significant issues so far...few little niggly things (brake pedals unlock and separate...will need to shim\bend the latch to fix it, key hard to remove from ignition...graphite?) Transmission noisy in 3 but that is normal I think till it gets up to speed...manual rev adjustment a possible fix...other than that it seems fine.

The other thing that sh!ts me about Branson is the cr@p manuals they provide...the one that came with the 6225h is wrong in many places (e.g. the oil filter photo doesn't match the tractor...according to the manual I have a 3cyl motor...wrong!) and doesn't mention some of the features of the tractor (draft adjustment being a good example)...one would expect that such an expensive piece of machinery would at least have an accurate manual.

They make the manuals according to the series and not the specific model. So you get a manual that covers the entire 25 series, since it's all the same tractor other than the added extra cylinder on the engine for some models.

But yes, it could definitely be improved.

Yes, I realise that (series not model)...same as many cars BUT the manual they did supply leaves out bits and is wrong in other areas...the photo's are very poor quality to boot and show components in the wrong places (or the wrong components)...it looks like they haven't updated it for many years and does not reflect the current 25 series (at least the 25 series we get in Australia...maybe we are just the poor cousins that get the rest of the world's cr@p and old manual stocks dumped on us:confused3:

Oh it could be worse, I have an 8050 and it's been a decent good tractor.
The operators manual leaves a bit to be desired but it's functional,
however Branson has elected to not even offer or have available a service manual for this tractor.
They still list it on there web site but as I understand it is not available.

There are only 2 of the 25 series that I have seen in the US so far, the 3725 and the 4225. They are both the same engine, a 4 cyl normally aspirated engine, and the hp increase is all on the fuel delivery side. Don't know why your manual says you have a 3 cyl. I was curious if the 6225 was normally aspirated, or is it a turbo?

And yeah, the owners manual is pretty rough on mine as well. I think part of the problem is it could use some "polish" on the translation from Korean-to-English. I haven't seen the technical manual for mine, but I should probably order one at some point while the model is still being manufactured, and the manual still available.

The 6225h is a turbo 4cyl (in Oz anyhow). I'm hoping the 'right to repair' campaign in the US spills over to other countries as I don't like being held to ransom by vendors (parts are at least 50% more than in the US here, often 100% more). The manual shows the position of he oil filter as being for a 3cyl motor not a 4cyl...error on their side or it is such an old manual that they haven't bothered to update it...really quite a poor showing for the company...my first tractor so unsure if other brands are as shoddy in their documentation.
