Branson 4720 back up lights.

Have owned this tractor for 3 years now and never needed to use the lights . Last night I needed to snow blow so my wife could get out today. Had a really hard time as the back up lights would only stay on for a few seconds As soon as the reverse pedal was pressed the lights would come on then turn off right away.
Had to plow with lights from the red ones on the back and a hand flash light. The single round mounted light was broken during a winching accident . So it that how they are supposed to work ??Only on for a few seconds . If not where should I start to look?

Managed to get the rear spot light glued and installed so I can use it the next time to blow snow at night.
Maybe someone will see the question about my back up lights and reply by then.
