Kioti nx6010 loader backhoe
How would you guys handle this. I purchased brand new 5220ch loader backhoe. Went dealer yesterday picked machine up. Get home take machine off trailer drive around and noticed the coolant Gauge in the red. Quickly turn machine of. Look over everthting can't find anything. The over flow tank was on the low side. I check the Radiator don't see fluid. In the end the machine holds 1.58 gallons antifreeze, I put a full gallon in to bring it to correct level. At this point how would you handle this. If it took that much , how do I know when they moved it from the plant to trucks it wasn't over heated? How to I know when they unloaded it at the dealer it wasn't over heated? Really upset but not sure what to do. Do I Demand a new machine? What will be the long terms problems. Any suggestions? Thanks

Real bad pre delivery inspection ...I would call them and make a big stink about it...You could have problems later ,Why was it low a leak ?.........

Definitely let the dealer know it took that much coolant to fill the radiator.
Monitor it closely to see if it goes down.
Did the dealer install a block heater or lower radiator hose heater before delivery?
How many hours on the tractor?

He did install the block heater. I spoke to him yesterday and he was the one that recommended checking the radiator. He blamed the factor. I just don’t know what to do. I’m worried I’ll have long term problems. After I filled it up it was fine no more over heating.

Also there was not leaks just radiator low on fluid. What do I need to watch for, if it did damage something?

There is your most likely answer, pulled the block plug installed the block heater and didn't refill the radiator, most of the coolant would drain out pulling the block plug.
Whoever he had doing the work screwed up, NOT the factory.

If he installed the block heater at his shop they did not fill the radiator back up plain and simple...........

Regardless of the block heater that tractor should have never made it from the dealership low of anything! Has nothing to do with the factory or assembly plant!

My suggestion is go over it thoroughly. Check oil, air filter, hydraulic fluid, hose clamps, grease everything and torque all the bolts you can access. Especially wheels and loader frame bolts.

Your dealer did not do a good job making the tractor ready for delivery. IMO

I agree K5iwq. At this point I don’t know what to do. How do I know I don’t have any kind of long term damage?

If you damaged anything it will show up quickly. Keep a close eye on your gauges and look for water in oil or white smoke out of exhaust. My bet is you will be ok, but time will tell. If it is going to be an issue it will happen while still under warranty.

How long did you actually run till you realize it was running hot?

Few minutes. Thing I’m worried about is how do I know that when it was shipped from plant to dealer they didn’t over heat it. I sent an email to dealer and Branson with receipt for documentation. I feel like they should just give me a new machine. Totally unacceptable for this to happen on a new machine. I guess I didn’t notice it at the dealer because I started it and drove it onto the trailer. Who knows it could of over heated then. It don’t have any kinda of light just the gauge.

I really doubt it would come from the factory like that.

I think the key part here is the block heater. As mentioned before, dealer installed the block heater, messed up and didn't refill the radiator.

Personally I don't think there is any damage on the engine but I do agree, that's unacceptable to receive a machine in that condition.

You certainly are within your right to request a replacement.

The gauge is what you want. Keep an eye on it if you keep the tractor. By the time a light comes on, it is usually too late.

If it were me, the dealer would hear about it but I would run it unless it gave some indication of a problem.

I wonder if the coolant was above or below the temp sensor though. Where is it located on this tractor? Above or under the block heater?

im not sure. Maybe some buddy’s else can chime in

I'm guessing here but from other threads here I think you will be ok it did not run long to overheat and shut down on its own . I would keep a eye on it ,I would find another dealer for service or do it yourself ...Sounds like poor shop practices to much time chit chatting and not focusing on the job at hand.......:2cents:

Thanks everybody for the info. I did email the dealer and Branson, so I’ll update when I get an answer.

Block heater installer is the culprit. He should have refilled the radiator. Dealer痴 fault. I壇 send a written complaint to the dealer and if it was me I壇 cc Branson customer service.
