We just made an offer tonight on a
20 acre horse farm and they accepted our offer! We are excited!

We weren't even looking 2 weeks ago. The back story:

I'm 62 and my wife is ...err uh... a year younger. Her daughter just sold her house on an acre so she and her husband could buy enough acreage to have her 2 horses on the property instead of boarding.

Her daughter and husband came across this place but knew they could not afford it but it had a mother in law apartment. My wife was intrigued so we looked into it further. The apartment is 1600 sq ft and the rest of the house is bigger yet. It has a nice horse barn, all indoor arena and good pastures with run ins.

My wife and I have each had horses over the years, so it is not going to be strange. (This is our second marriage after raising our own kids.)

So we will let the kids have the larger living space because they are going to start a family and we will.take the mother-in-law apartment.

Well I just wanted to share our news with someone, so here it is.

Great news...congratulations:drink:

I love it when families can pool resources because they share similar interests...many benefits when you can do this. I truly hope it all works out even better than you anticipate!

You, sir, are a class act... Congrats!

Sounds like a good arrangement so long as everybody gets along. :horse:

Yes, that is the key. Obviously we think it will work, but it is yet to be proven. We want to help the kids out, but secretly I think my wife and I want to get back to our roots.

Thanks guys, we are excited about the move. If the kids get on my nerves, I'll just grab my dog and go to cabin up north for a few days of fishing and relaxation to regain my equilibrium. Yep, I have a back up plan. ;)

Smart thinking. Sounds like a good set up and hope all works out.
