I guess the leading edge just passed over us which was nothing more than some big drops of rain, wind, lightning thundering. But that is all calm now, but I saw somewhere they're talking about 9:00 or later tonight when we start getting into the rain. The Kentucky governor has already been on the news.

I live on top of a hill now because I grew up living on the edge of the swamp now on the other side of the road. If the 15 in of potential rain comes quickly, we will not flood at the house but we won't be able to get off our Hill.

Aren’t you in Murray?

Reed Timmer was spotted earlier today in Poplar Bluff.

What are cape values????
You beat me to asking.

We've been getting drowned so far. I was able to sneak the pooch out for a quick pee a few minutes in between rain squall's.

Confirmed tornado north east of us about 60 miles away so far.

It's been quiet for the past 10 minutes

Came home from work tonight in my service truck. Had a few places I had to kick on the beacon lights due to low visibility.

Supposed to have hail accompanying some of these storms. So I parked my pickup inside the shop tonight as well as the other work trucks that were there.

It helps to have some rain out ahead of these lines of weather to use up some energy. The worst are discrete storms that are not in an organized line, as they have no competition for energy. Typically out in front of the line... TN has a bunch of these at the moment, with numerous tornado warnings.
We've been hit by two tornados. They were almost 3 years to the day apart.

Both times we had one storm coming up from Shreveport Louisiana and another headed due east from Dallas.

They both met and became a super cell.

Where the damage stopped from the first tornado, the damage from the second tornado started.

The first one passed by less than 1/10 of a mile from us. Next door neighbor had to have his roof replaced.

I lost a piece of flashing off the house, 14 trees, and the windshield out of my truck.

The second one that came through, passed at 4/10 of a mile from us. No damage other then some limbs down and the power out for us.

Some people a 1/2 mile away lost everything twice. When we were helping them clean up, the wife stopped and talked with us. She was 5 months pregnant.

She mentioned that she was about 5 months pregnant when they got hit by the first one.

My wife asked if she was gonna have anymore kids after this one???

She replied ,"he!! No!!!! That factory is getting closed after this one is born!!!!"

She wasn't gonna chance a third pregnancy after losing everything during her other 2 pregnancies.

I live on Whidbey Island, which is north of Seattle by about 40 miles. Two years ago we had 27 trees come down in a wind storm. Not much rain but lotsa wind. Mostly alders. This last winter we had 8 trees come down, one was a big hemlock. So we have a bunch of stuff to clean up. Just more fire wood. But our winds and rain pale in comparison to what CloverKnollFarms is experiencing just now. As an aside, could you maybe sign your posts with something shorter than CloverKnollFarms? Like Frank or Henry or Nancy or Jill or similar?
Eric
I participated in a neighborhood boat race on whidbey Island when I was 22yo during a 4th of July celebration. I was visiting a cousin and she her boyfriend's parents were having a big bash.

Murray is our closest town by about 5 mi but I actually live in Graves county near the state line like you're going to Paris, Tennessee.

Just before dark I went out and hooked up the NOCO to the 2010 f150. The factory tow package gives it a 4-in lift and if I'm going to do any water forging getting the wife to work the rest of the week I'd rather be in it. I was once concerned about the Prius c being light but it's shape and everything it does well but you can't crawl under on your back on pavement. 🙂

Seems like we out of woods, but there is no power. Good thing the cell reception is still on.

I don't see a signature at all 🤔

This is going to be a rough night for a lot of people. Storms 35 miles from us are now tornado warned
You're correct, I shoulda said you should have short signature. Period.

Hopefully everyone came out well through those bad storms last night. It got really hairy at my place and apparently we had a tornado pass by within a 1/4 mile of us. We received an alert from local news that a tornado was coming right down our road but I didn't see one. I don't know if I have any damage yet as I left for work well before dark this morning.

Looks like Arkansas had the brunt of it. Indianapolis recorded 100mph straight line winds, and there was a tornado touchdown on the north side of the city.

Our disaster relief group has a callout to head to SW Michigan, but it looks like we will also have plenty to do here at home. What a mess

Yeah there must be quite a bit of damage here as well because a couple of the area schools close by have been closed due to storm damage.

So far so good. Besides a coupled of fallen trees and massive piles of debris on my fields from overflown creeks nothin major. The power was back at 1:45AM.

I have not been off the place yet today but I saw a video on Facebook of a neighbor. A mile and a half south of me right near the Tennessee border had lost trees in his front yard. The house looked to be intact and but it was a lot of white metal in the fields North of his place. So I assume it took out his shop and the carports on it but I think it's straight line winds based on the debris field.

Just found out Owasso OK had a tornado last night...with the path about 1 mile from where we lived. We had tornado drills with the kids growing up.

At the time, we got some comfort from the fact that the weather teams in OK are phenomenal with accuracy of their tornado path predictions.

They invest a lot of money and expertise in this area and unfortunately they also gain experience from the quantity of events they deal with...

I don't miss it!

I don't know what was worst, yesterday's tornado watch or current thunderstorms. I never in my life saw such amount of water coming down and the lightning. It is non stop and it is bright like day. All my creeks become flowing lakes.

We just got our power back. It was out for about 4 hours. I'm sure glad there's people that work in these kinds of storms to keep us power. Now I can connect to my CPAP machine.
