My 5035 has a pumpkin shaped cast iron ' device ' in the lower radiator hose to install a standard 3/4" screw in heater... You can get them on Ebay or Amazon... I bought a ' Kat's 11619 600 watt ' to put in mine... but will not be putting it in until this summer. Your tractor may have the same inline heater spot.. Good luck, Jerry...

Looking at the parts site, your 6110 uses a different screw in heater than my 35 series. Says it screw into left side of maybe the block, where the pumpkin shaped thing in mine is called a B/H adapter, probably bottom hose... Your dealer can fix u up with one.... :)

Thanks for the replies. I'll check block. What parts site are you looking at Jerry? New Mahindra owner here.

There are some parts dealers on TractorByNet, too... This link says 'ERROR', but works .... Good luck, Jerry

I took a quick look this afternoon and didn't see the plug in the block for the heater. I'll take a closer look soon. I don't see anyway to use one of the in hose heaters,so it will have to be an in block heater looks like.

I have been looking at Wolverine adhesive pad heaters that is glued with a 3M adhesive to the oil pan externally. Has anyone else looked or used a Wolverine?

We have installed several block heaters in the 6110, you have to knock out the freeze plug on the side of the block, tap in the adapter and thread in the block heater. If I remeber correctly around $100 shipped to you. Can have it to you in the matter of a few days.

Hi Jerry,

I have been searching everywhere, including google, to find the info you provided here re: coolant heater for my 2010 5035. The glow plug went away last winter so had to keep the old girl in my 45 degree heated garage, preventing my winter projects from getting done! :banghead:

so Thank You for this valuable information!

I am about to order the heater and wanted to know if you installed it this summer and did it fit without hitting internally? Is it working properly in your 5035? Would appreciate a follow up. You can reach out to my via my email address if it's more convenient: cfcbassman@gmail.com

Thanks again.

No, I have been busy doing other stuff... trying to get some wood in now. My wife died in February and I am just getting her affairs kind of straightened out. Plus, my son bought a new house and I have been running downstate helping him... I have a lot of things piled up. I have been retired since 2003 and I am still looking for all the free time I am supposed to have to wiggle my toes and sip barley pop.... living the good life... :)

So Sorry for your Loss Jerry. It's good you have family around for support. Hope your son isn't too far away with his new house.

So you haven't had a chance to install the Kats heater. Understood. I read in different threads that there is a concern with this type of block heater that if the heating element is too long, it may touch the opposite wall in some applications and short the element out, shortening life of heater. The element on this one seems fairly short and looking at the "pumpkin device", I don't think there will be an issue. Did you make the same determination or do have another way to make sure this heater fits properly on our 5035's?

Thanks again for your time. You're a busy guy!:confused2:

Having dealt with conduit threads and NPT type threads all my life, I did a quick measurement of the probable [ guess work here ] seated depth of the heater..... AND also guessed the probable casting thickness of the Mahindra pumpkin shaped heater device.... and through a process of voodoo calculations determined that the heater would maybe fit... [[ :) ]]

Best I can do... soon as I get the rest of my wood in I may be able to give you a better answer. I had to stop cutting early last year because Mom Nature decided to dump on us up here in the boonies. I might add... ' I think ' that this heater is ' just about the same ' as the one you can procure from the dealer... ie: stock part ... I'm sure that will help belay your fears.... :)

Sounds good to me Jerry. Thanks for the input. Good to know it's probably the same one as my dealer would have ordered for me.

Instead of ordering two with one for backup, I'll just order 1 to be sure it fits.

Sure hope this winter is a bit easier. Last couple here in New England have been brutal.

Good luck with your wood chores.

My 5035 starts pretty easy all year round. I put a switch in line with the grid heater relay, and start it sometimes in the winter not thinking to run the heater. My tractor stays in my barn all the time, though. I'm an old Dodge/Cummins guy, and cringe everytime the grid heaters drive all the gauges nuts in my Dodge. That's why, they have been unhooked for years, too....

My 5035 has run like a champ since purchased in spring of 2011. Last year the glow plug (grid heater??) stopped working. Hear it's usually the timer and didn't want to spend the time/$ fixing it so kept it in heated garage due to the brutal cold we had. But she takes up a lot of room so need to get her back in the unheated detached garage but still be able to get her started in the cold. I anticipate this Coolant heater will allows this.

One thing I mistakenly left out of a tank of gas was the ford diesel treatment. Recommend by my son in laws dad (big diesel fan) it makes a huge difference in startup ease. Took several tries to get her started without it one cold morning, even in my 45 degree heated garage. Never again! Bought TWO bottles so I don't run out.

Agreed! If I knew of the provision for the coolant heater when I purchased the tractor, I would have installed one soon after once I discovered how hard the start is AND the wear and tear starting a frigid engine single digit cold causes....
