Biodiesel - any experience?

rbargeron, this is how it always works. Before long we'll be talking about the new tractor mounted barbeques Weber is making. Of course, to maintain topic integrity we could mention the barbeque will run on the new biodiesel and use Amsoil to keep the grill from rusting. The deviation occurs either because we have no clue what your talking about or are getting bored with the subject. Most of our interest in in Tractors. Biodiesel is interesting, but totally impractical for most normal use. Most of us have to buy a lot of diesel to do our work and $4.50 a gallon would be pretty hard to stomach. That would be about $40 for a day's work on the tractor vs $8.00.

Sorry, but most alternate fuels are only practical for government programs and others that money doesn't mean much to.

Tell me how to make my own fuel for $0.50 a gallon, and I will talk to you all day. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

er.. if you are going to hold this group on topic for more than two posts, you are sure going to have to guide us, because we wonder off pretty fast.

Right now the state of Delaware is starting a six month program using soyoil mix in all their diesel engines and if the program is successful they will continue. Its a mix of soybeans 20% and diesel 80% its supposed to burn cleaner and be more efficient than regular diesel.
Am unsure of the cost per gallon at this time but I will check their website and see what it says if anything. To me it seems like a smart way to go we will have to see how this program pans out.

Just went and looked at it today! It will arive on monday!! Now I just have to sort out the tire issue?? To keep the R4s or trade them in and get the big old XM27!!!!!! IM leaning toward the michelins and I know what you think Gordon!!!

I know by now you must be chomping at the bit. The R-4s are junk in the mud so may just as well take the plunge and go for the mac daddy tires. Dealer should give you a refund on the R-4s if you do go the other route. Monday will be here soon enough.
The dealer has my tractor fixing a leak at the propeller shaft STILL. They gave me a loaner tractor and I've already put 40hrs on it its a little baby a B20 I must say a pretty tough machine for its size but I miss my tractors power.

Delaware, where is Delawhere? I thought that was a province in England. Guess its just one of those great states you never hear much about. I can't even think what shape it is, what the capitol is, state bird, state flower, song, whats on the flag, state motto, population, significant features etc. See, see how easy it is to get off topic. Ok this is something you might know about Delaware. What state has the most corporations??? Answer the first state Delaware. No sales tax either!!! Oh and you can't get here from there.
