Biggest Wrench ever?

I've had this thing for several years. I got it from my Grandfather. IIRC someone gave it to him, He had no idea what it was used for and neither do I. Any ideas?

BTW..It says "BLACKHAWK MADE IN USA" and "MAX 4 1/4 inches"

It comes up to the front pocket rivet on my Wranglers, I'm 6'1"

Shown is a 16" Craftsman wrench and a Sthil 290 Farm Boss for comparison.

It's just a wrench. I've seen large nut and bolts used on turbine housings that wrench would be used on. Not for final tensioning though. The bolts were hollow for a heater rod to expand the bolt. After cooling the bolts would contract tensioning the fastener.

I'm thinking it has some age to it but what do I know.

You can buy one that looks very similar new from OTC. It's supposed to replace several size wrenches with the one as large wrenches are generally pretty pricey though these aren't cheap. OTC 7641 Adjustable Wrench First one that popped up on google.

Edit... For those it was lost on, the title "biggest wrench ever" was a joke. I know there are much bigger ones. This is my biggest one.

Nice knuckle buster. Better hang that thing off by itself, it'll give the rest of your wrenches a complex. Lol

I actually do keep it screwed to the garage wall since I sand blasted it. I got it down to apply a little more primer gray and decided to snap a few pics. I've been thinking of having it powder coated.

I wonder if that one is American made or imported? From the price of a new one I need to put mine in a safe.

For ironworking? Or maybe military in origin, like for tanks or whatever.
