i found everything on your site mark and i found the info from everlast when i talked to them but the guy i was trying to buy from could not produce an original receipt POP from the person that gifted it to him so I had to pass on it - I didnt want to get one that had been questionable or stolen and then not have a wty or get into trouble.

Hi All, I have been waiting for several years to pull the trigger and so i did.

Tried to find a used with wty for a while and no one could produce a receipt for me to follow up with manufacturer to pursue a wty and with not being able to confirm devices I went with new.

Rebate was helpful. I was so close to pulling the trigger on a 211si but again the guy couldnt provide that documentation that i needed so had to pass - sorry mark

I ended up with red - havent fired it up yet, my wife picked up this cart on a walk. It was destined for the landfill so we rescued it and I knew one day i could find a use for it. Well that day has come. I added a shelf, a couple cross supports and cut a hole in the top for the bottle and viola' mig cart, it has wheels on the back legs so you just pick up the front a couple inches and away she goes..........

FWIW i did figure out how to post pix on WW, I also am able to create new posts but so many features gone and not working along with many of the users. I dont blame them, i only checked back in because a few had been waiting a post for me and my updates. I think most of them even bailed - doesnt look good for that site. Its been broken far too long.

i was looking at a NIB 211si but guy couldnt come up with receipt so no WTY for it would be honored - passed on it - got a new lincoln with rebate and wty hopefully that helps

Almost all of my welders were purchased used. Most of them still NIB or near new. I ALWAYS assume NO warranty will be available for the machine and let the price dictate my decision to buy or not.

I always anticipate a worst case scenario. I was bidding once on a Hypertherm plasma cutter. Even though it was almost new I was aware that a new board was almost $1000 without labor if it ever needed one. I subtracted this amount from what I thought the machine was worth to me before submitting my bid.

i usually do to but in this case with the cost of repairs being 90% of original purchase price for a single board failure i didnt want to go that route - these mp welders have less parts and a lot of technology on the circuit boards - that is why i didnt go used on this purchase as these new mp machines regardless of major brand are not very plentiful in used around here to the prices are not significantly lower enough to warrant the risk for me

I have a hypertherm - many of the older boards are NLA so that was a big risk for me, i found a NOS board for teh one i have it was 1/3 of a new hypertherm but i also got about 250 worth of tips for it also!!

1st update - got regulator installed, hooked up gas, hooked up mig head, set it up for positive since on C25, gotta put the other drive roller on for .30 solid wire and wire guide plate, powered it up on 110 and it turned on. Pressed some buttons/turned knobs, went thru menus, pretty simple but the manual is a little weak in my opinion. For instance it doesnt have a picture or tell you how to change out the drive roller for different size wires on the quick start OR in the manual.

outside of that so far so good - havent decided how i will secure it to my cart yet - ground and mig torch seem a weeeeee bit short but i havent welded with it yet so will have to see what i think when i get to laying down some metal.

pretty quiet, fan comes on when you turn on power even cold so its evidently a full time fan like my idealarc - my neighbor has an old mig that doesnt have a fan, its from an autobody shop and he said it was mad that way so it didnt stir up dust.

i picked up some tip lube for it curious, is that for solid wire ? cant think you would want that grease on flux core ?

Could you be referring to nozzle dip? It helps prevent spatter buildup in and on the nozzle and tip.

It is best applied when the nozzle is clean and warm.

I wonder if that auto body shop welder had the fan disconnected or removed. I can’t see what difference it would make if the fan stirred up dust as welding would include grinding at that phase of a repair anyways. And I don’t know what kind of shop would be painting outside of a booth.

The pre-ESAB Linde 160 was the only Mig unit I remember that didn't have a fan. Sold for body and muffler shops. Had spot, stitch panel that would blow and render the unit helpless. Pretty good welder inspite of that. I have a welder repair friend who installs thermostats at the fan to make fan on demand. He puts in 1 to do the job and another in case the 1st one fails. I'm a fan of fan on demand but I don't recall fan speed strong enough to kick up dust. Could be a body shop thing.
