That ball peen hammer has a privileged place.

I'd walk by it, bump in out of the bracket, and it'd land on my foot. By the fourth or fifth time I'd find a smaller hammer for the cart.

What I often wear for a quick shop task... flip flops... what I should wear... steel toed shoes. At least something that arrests the grinding sparks! Let alone a 20+lb ball peen!

I picked up few things on the weekend. This little $25 made in England vise from the 1950’s cleaned up really nicely ..

The same fellow I got the vise from had this little railroad track anvil for $20.

I spent about a half hour with the wire brush and grinding wheel to get it into presentable shape.

3” jaws and 3” opening. The jaw serrations were like new.

Incredibly smooth tight operation. And heavy weight to size ratio.
