I have a B7500 with a 60" MMM from a B7510 turf Special and was wondering if there was a better set of blades for my mowing deck? It mows grass good but I think it could be better.I've sharpened them but I think it could leave a little bit cleanner or neater cut.I've noticed the grass that is throwed out is big or long clippings. Are there blades with a finner cut that will do a better job???,and if so about how much are they?

Howdy, I just installed a set of Gator mulching blades on my BX1800 54" MMM and thought the cut I got was very good. My observation was the Gator blades chop up grass, leaves etc. to smaller pieces than my factory blades. You can find them for $12-15 apiece by doing a Google search for "Gator blades".

I would suggest a high lift mulching type blade. I have the factory mulching kit for my BX24 54" MMM and it works incredibly well. I can't get over how nice it will mulch the grass and leave nothing behind.

Nice to hear about Gator blades. I think my 7510 60" mmm cuts like a piece of junk. I hope it's just the blades. I am going to chain up the mmm next spring too.

I have the rck60b_75b from a Turf Special on my B2410. Have to say it does a great job, BUT it has to be set up properly. When I first put it on I had a hard time getting a nice even cut until I was able to get it properly leveled. It's a bit tricky and a bit of trial and error and several times adjusting on a flat concrete surface then back out to try it before you get it right. Make sure it is absolutely level side to side and slightly lower in front than rear...about 1/16 - 1/8" I find best....but anything from level to 1/2 inch lower in front works for me. Note....I am measuring the blade itself, not the deck, and about at mid height... a good way to scuff up the wrists but is a must. Measuring the deck lip instead of the blade is not accurate enough.

Added this edit after realizing I don't know if you have a suspended deck (rck60b_75b) or rck60_24b. I've not used a 24b so it might have more to do with the gauge wheel settings but I'm sure the end result must need to be similar.

I haven't read up here in a while, stopped by to see if anyone has seen a Gator Mulcher that fits these smaller spindle decks....apparently not, must still have to cut your own spacers. Guess I need to call Oregon and ask. Hard to imagine that with all the BX machines out their (which is basically what a Turf Special deck is) they have not made a direct fit, unless I'm not up to speed on it yet. After two summers now I'm at the point I have little steel left on the original blades. The OEM high-lift is a bit pricey in my opinion at $75 a set local.
