Also verify tongue weight by actual measurement. I have a 32' camping trailer where the mfgr says the tongue weight is 1150#, actually measured (with trailer completely empty) at 1650#. That's a lot of difference - about 50% more.

To fall within the generally recommended limitations for 1650 lbs. of tongue weight, your trailer should weigh somewhere between 18,000 lbs. GVW (9% on tongue), and 11,000 lbs. GVW (15% on tongue).
You should also most definitely use a weight distribution hitch!

I know there are many good WDH setups around. And most folks are supportive of the brand they have already dropped theiThat being said, the Blue Ox Sway Pro seems to be one of the most versatile WDH along with easiest of setups to use. Many little features that make it a pleasure to use and setup.

Blue Ox seems to have a lot of stuff figured out. Like a 5th wheel hitch that attaches direct to a gooseneck ball if someone already has one. And can be removed easily. No frame rails mounted in the bed. Gooseneck one day, 5th wheel the next, gooseneck the next, and if using a flip ball, a full bed available at any time. 3 piece setup that can be easily setup in a few minutes by one person. With full to and fro adjustment, and shock loaded support.
