Best oil for Branson 4220i?

what is the best type (weight) oil to use in the Branson 4220i? The oil filter said use 10w30 for summer use.

I'd use Rotella-T 15W40 diesel oil. I use it for everything.

Thanks JayC and Transit. I was able to get up with my dealer (which had been on vacation). He said to use Rotella-T also. I talked with another dealer before and he said us 10w-30. Now that I have the filter off it reads 10w30 (summer season use 30 oil). The Korean writing was top side on the tractor (my luck :laughing: ) I think I going to go with the Rotella-T. Thanks for the feed back.

i don't see too many 10w40 C rated oils.. 5w40 and 15w40 and 10w30 yes.


to the OP...I'd go with manufacture weigth specifications in your temp range

thanks sound guy. I am using Rotella-T1 which is 30w for this summer. Then I will get back with my dealer about using Rotella-T 15w-40 for winter. The Rotella-T 15w-40 help with the sulphur in the HWY fuel (don't use enough to get NonHwy fuel). The problem I was having was the service manual just said higher than CC. It wasn't until i got the oil filter off that i could read all the info on it. Rotella-T or T1 are both good. It was much easier when i had it serviced but Times are hard.

where are you still getting high sulphur fuel.. I was under the impression that even non taxed/dyed fuel was LSD or ULSD...

must be a regional thing. that product, nor are 10w30C rated oils commonly available on the shelf down here in florida. if you want a diesel oil down here, you can get 30w, 40w, 15w40, or 5w40.. anything other than that is scarce...
