The old Deines is an 1800, 60 inch. Kohler Magnum 18. May have to look at possibly rebuilding the hydro if possible, to sell it. Runs great, just a tad hard on the body now as I get older. They really haven't changed much over the years.
I will be cutting this aft with the Toro, will post results.

I hear you - the single small back wheel with no suspension can be a little rough. I bought one with the spread two wheels in the back - makes a world of difference.

That's a first that I heard of a Kawi sucking gas down. What are you comparing to?

Just a blind observation...I've nothing to fairly compare it to beyond decent guesses. I've got a 7hp gas splitter and a 30hp diesel that can run maybe a half gallon an hour. The 24hp gas mower gets around a quarter of that...or so. No good studies...just approximations.

WOW I am impressed. More responsive than I'm used to. I do bottom out occasionally with the ride system, not a fault of the machine, but me being a tad over 300 lbs. Should take more than an hr off my regular cutting time without the old bump and grind. My body will thank me many times over. More to come after a full mowing session.

I have a 35 HP Kawasaki (fx1000v) on my zero turn with 72" deck.
I like the engine, very smooth with good power. But great on fuel its not. When pushing it hard I'm probably nearing 2 gallon per hour.

Completely agree....love the Kaw on my Yazoo, reliable, powerful, but thirsty. Easily my favorite of the twin cylinder commercial gas engines.

Moved the seat forward some to keep the weight off the rear to adjust the weight bias. Reduced the bottoming out to minimal. Happy happy. Learning. Should read the manual.

John Deere diesels have been the best, Xmark rear and side discharge have been less reliable mainly parts wearing out, engine has been ok.
The mowers I'm talking about are put through some of the worst conditions with contractors running them. Deere gets the top shelf. PERIOD.

The heading is for commercial zt. I was responding the MyRide post. Hope it's still relevant. The Titan with My Ride is a winner. Anyone contemplating a new ZT should experience the system. 2.1 hrs doesn't make me an expert, but after using the old Deines for several years, no suspension or even a sprung seat, I feel confident in recommending this one. For those who have done the dirt bike thing, it's like going from a '70's trail bike to a monoshock motocross bike.
On a side note, the hydro on the Deines is ok, just a way too quick diagnosis with the symptoms I noticed. Merely the intermediate sprocket shaft/ chain adjuster had shifted, causing the chain to skip on the small cog. It's all good, wanted a new mower anyway.

That is what I find with the Deines - they are very simple and just do not quit. And also have a very nice cut.

I will miss the ease of cleaning the underside of the deck and being able to cut under trees and shrubs. For cleaning and sharpening this one, the fel will come into play.

Metalbender, have you cut more with that Titan? Still lovin' it?

I bought a Mojack lift for my current mower and it works great. I'm not sure if it will fit the Titan.
I may order the Titan tomorrow.

I've got about 90 hrs in 2 years on my Toro Titan HD 2000 60" zero turn. I don't have the Myride but I do have a firmness adjustment for the seat.

I mow about 2-1/2 acres where the ground is not smooth in places. I generally don't go that fast (~4 mph) to make sure I get a good cut. I haven't been disappointed yet.

I can imagine the MyRide would only be a bonus for my mower. Since I've jettisoned the crappy turf tires for bar tires I don't get stuck not make as many ruts (because the turf tires spin in slightly damp grass)

Thanks for that. I put about 125 hrs. per year mowing, with what I've got. The Titan seems to be solidly built, and should hold up well, don't you think?

Hard to get a pic of the whole yard, but this is about a third. 2FE2E56D-E35D-4744-BF1B-A721BDDC2351.jpeg

Neat place!

I bought a Titan today. They're supposed to deliver it Wednesday.

4.8 hrs Definitely cut the mowing time. The My Ride platform is so sweet. Can't compare to a regular spring type seat, but my thoughts are that all others pale by comparison. Others might chime in to alter my view.

I took delivery of my Titan today. It came early enough that I was able to get my grass cut.
It knocked an hour and 20 minutes off my cutting time, and the MyRide is excellent!
Very nice machine.
