Bent my BX!

I bent it back and made operable again, tends to bind when it gets warm though. Will order replacement today.

Maybe order a slightly bigger cylinder for the bigger rod and put a relief valve across it to drop the pressure?

That's what I'm thinking... it must be boosted or stuck.

Yeah, that's why I asked if he was using the tractor to pull the stumps. None of the cylinders on the boom should have the power to do that to the bucket cylinder.

Probably not a matter of hydraulics, the cyl bound up at full extension and anothe cyl (or driving the tractor) did it. :duh: dang that sucks.

If it bent only using the control levers it's totally a matter of hydraulics.

I bent a bucket curl cylinder few years ago using a Grapple. Did that by using the tractor to accomplish something the curl cylinders could not.

I bent my curl cylinder but not with hydraulics, was using bucket to lift telephone pole end and then dragged it down the road, when I got home, saw the damage and could only kick myself for the damage.

This is Not an Uncommon bend on backhoes, The relief valve has nothing to do with it, as that spool & relief valve was Likely Not being used at the time of the over stress on that cylinder & rod.
There are many bent hoe cylinder rods and they usually happen the same way. KennyV

Then you are thinging this person hook on to the stump, and then started to drive away with the tractor. To get it out that way.

Check with surplus center. When I bent the curl cylinder on the 3430 they had exact replacement cylinders in their close out section for a very good price. They were even orange.
