Kubota M59, JD530, JD310SG. Restoring Yanmar YM165D
Well....I haven't had any problems with the M59. This is one of the first ones in this area and it's a one fine tractor. The warranty has been a nice security blanket and it was nice that Kubota didn't have any problems with me doing my own maintenance. It probably didn't hurt to be a known mechanic in these parts. But my warranty is about to run its course and it would be prudent to make sure nothing has been overlooked.

As part of our sales agreement, my dealer agreed to provide me with service & technical bulletins and he did do that for awhile but has since gone out of business. Does anyone have a source for M59 Kubota updates and technical bulletins?
The last one he sent was PSB-2008-027.
thanks, rScotty

As far as technical bulletins go, there has only been one since your last one. Is your serial number between 50781-51374? The bulletin is for a potentially faulty oil pressure warning switch, and is dated 3/31/09. Hope this helps!

Well it does help. Thank you for looking it up. Mine must have really been an early one as the serial number is 50419. Wonder what mod Kubota tried on the oil pressure sender? That reminds me that I haven't gotten around to mounting gauges yet...and that's something that I normally do and ought to have done by now. My usual way is to replace the sender with a "T" in the block so that there is a port to work the warning light and a gauge as well.

Say, you wouldn't happen to know if Kubota uses NPT or BSP (British Standard tapered Pipe thread) would you? Some Japanese makers use one...some the other....there's supposedly an interesting story how that came about. Of course there is also a metric tapered pipe spec, but it doesn't seem to be as popular as NPT and BSP - even among metric designers.
