Do u think pounding at front will snal clip off so whole pinion come out...was wondering
Previous owner said 10/90I agree with that! Wonder what type of oil was used in the front end?
I do not think so. I would try to remove the race first.Do u think pounding at front c clip might brake and allowing shaft removal
I don’t think so. The bearing is what centers the shaft. Once you get the new one on and the shaft back in place, I think you will be fine.Yes i try to get race out..im waiting on new bearing and seal..i do notice pinion shat not level..plus wheels dont turn when i turn pinion shaft..u think there another issue...ty
Thank u so much for assistanceI don’t think so. The bearing is what centers the shaft. Once you get the new one on and the shaft back in place, I think you will be fine.
When you get the new bearing and install the shaft should rotate back in place as you tighten the seal collar. I would use the seal collar to seat the bearing without seal installed then remove collar and install the seal. Just take your time and think about it as you go. You will know when things are lining up.I got bearing off but appears pinion is off ring gear...any idea how get it back on....lol im a pain im 80 but do my best ty ty
Thank u so much. I remove whole axle and was able to remove pinion..it appears bad shape..my question is branson wants sell Pinion and ring gear as a set..is there anywhere i can just purchase a new pinion that u are aware of....thank uWhen you get the new bearing and install the shaft should rotate back in place as you tighten the seal collar. This reminded me of the Speedy Sleeve. One of these might would work well in this case. You could also have a machinist deposit metal on the surface and machine it back down to spec.
I think i just bite the dust and oder new shaft..hope it comes with new inner bearing no way to get this one offThat is unfortunate. The one gouge looks fairly deep and is right where the seal rides. I would mic that and outer diameter of the seal. You might could find a seal that would fit well if you had a machine shop turn the end of the shaft down to get rid of the gouges. The part of the shaft where the bearing fits is likely fine. Testing the fit would tell.
I was not able to get the parts book to load all of the diagrams but you should verify it comes with the inner bearing. I would be surprised if it did.I think i just bite the dust and oder new shaft..hope it comes with new inner bearing no way to get this one off
