I picked up a sweet 605 with BCS combo mower and an 8hp kohler magnum, purrs like a kitten. Thinking about adding more hp for other attachments, is it as simple as swapping my motor with a new one, like a 13hp honda, and nothing else like adapters would be required?

Candidly, my experience with the Honda engines is awful.

The fumes created by the GX340 I had on my TW5-FC commercial firewood splitter were so bad I bought a
catalytic converter from Foley engine service to clean the exhaust to convert it to CO2 and water vapor and I never had an issue after that. I only use premium gasoline and Seafoam gas treatment in my all my fuel.

I would purchase a Hatz diesel with an oil bath air cleaner and a Hatz recommended muffler before I invested in a Honda replacement.

I put a Honda on my BCS 850 (just a newer 605 I think). I sent the clutch to Earthtools, they mounted the adapter and clutch, all I had to do was mount the unit, hook up the cables, put gas&oil in, turn the key and go.Love the motor, love the tractor. We run that same engine on a lot of heavily used and abused equipment like Christmas tree balers, easy to service, easy to crank. Joel can tell you exactly what you need, but to be honest, my 725 had the 8hp Kohler and it was a hoss, I might try those power hungry implements first before I bought a new motor.

What motor did you have on your 850 before going to the Honda?

Briggs, V14. Had some fuel issues I didn't have time or energy to deal with.
