Attaching Photos::::

Click "Go Advanced".
Click on the blue "A" at the left end of the top row of icons above. This turns the blue color off.
PLACE YOUR CURSOR WHERE YOU WANT THE PIC TO APPEAR.
Click on the square icon that looks like a picture with four black dots at the corners. It's located in the second row or icons above, sixth from the right. If you hold your cursor there it reads "insert image".
Follow the directions listed in the box that will appear on your screen. You'll have a choice between "computer" or "url" for your pic. I use "computer". Don't forget to click on "upload files" when you have chosen the pic you want.
When the pic has appeared in your post "double left click" on the pic. A dropdown menu will appear on the screen. This lets you choose what size you want the pic to be in your post.
I always choose "full size". This allows readers to see the pic without having to click on it to enlarge and then close it to go to the next pic.

If you do all this correctly you will end up with a pic like this. I even attached a barn pic to stay ontrack with the thread!!!!

Hmmmm..... I've never had that problem. When I do it a small pic shows up wherever my cursor was sitting.

I'll hafta investigate that? Maybe someone else has had that problem and can chime in also.

Your pic looks great, it's just small. When I click it expands to full size.

Did you check the file size and type before you attached it?

I love that old barn… Ours isn't in too bad of shape. A few sills have been replaced. There are a few roof leaks and some of the loft floor boards are rotten from water getting in. It's not used for anything now but storage.

I know tackling a project that size isn't easy, but keep us updated!

All jacked up and now for the stone work. Very happy with the way it is working out.

Raider43 - You are doing a beautiful restoration job on that old barn. If only it could talk - the stories it could tell about its past.
Do you happen to know when it was built? It is really thrilling to see it getting a new chance on life instead of just a pile of rotten wood falling down.

Hello Paguy,

I have been told the barn framing is late 1800's. I believe the siding is mid 1900's (there is paper backing under the siding on one side). It was so close to falling down and could not let that happen on my watch. Found a rather old shoe under the floor boards kind of strange. Some of the older nails are square cut 4" long. Slate roof only needs a dozen or so replaced, pretty, pretty good.

Winter has slowed us down. Had a warm stretch end of February and had the foundation started. March has come in like a small lion and now going to be full grown tomorrow in Ct and NY.2017-03-12 12.19.10.jpg

I can remember, as a kid, there was a barn on my place. The original homesteader built it in the 1890's. By the time we moved onto the property in 1982 it was flat as a pancake. A builder of custom home bought the salvageable barn wood, paid an outlandishly high price and was happy to get it at that price.

I wish I still had the old barn. You are doing a fantastic job of restoration - the pics show how very much work is required. WHEW............

Yes Oosik it is a fair amount of work. I have an older gentleman and his nephew doing the work. I lift a rock here, move o board there and basically neaten things up. Oh and take photos. Had to do it as it started to come down last summer. One of the corners settled about 6" in a month.
