I've run into non-customer fees before and said fine... Use this check to open my new account and later I will leave a penny in the account.

The B of A I use has been in place since 1948.

I understand many of you have reservations about Wells Fargo from the media reports. But in my experience, banks are location specific, just like tractor dealers. Some are really good, some are horse-pucks. Wells Fargo offered me locations in both areas of the country where we frequently travel and conduct business, as did BOA. BOA couldn't care less about taking care of customers inside, or outside the bank from my observation and experience in dealing with them.

Wells Fargo has always been friendly, professional, and never has mandated additional products, or accounts. I've been a customer for over 5 years now, and no problems whatsoever.

Maybe you nay-sayers should question the media you listen to, or discover the facts for yourselves. You can hate WF all you want. Doesn't bother me. I hate the local Kubota dealer, he's arrogant, incompetant, and a horrible businessman. Many of you like yours. That's fine. Have at it!

When they were willing to pay millions and millions of dollars in penalties due to the malfeasance of their employees, it tells me all I need to know

There's that sins of the fathers thing. Local branch employees and management may not commit the same offenses as the corporatocracy above them. But if I can't trust the company who calls the shots and is responsible for financial integrity, does the 'good' of the locals matter?

My credit union wants 2 days notice for withdrawl over 1k.

well, I guess it depends on the cu. I have withdrawn 5k at my credit union without issue.
The guy that bought my tractor withdrew 7K without issue

yeah, The DA here seized a large sum of money from a guy here in AL.
It didn't take long for a judge to order the DA to return the money.

'It seems the judge didn't see where he had probable cause for them to take the money

Maybe there is one or two honest judges left in America

Boy, this makes Merica seem like a third world country. I haven't finished watching it yet, but it seems to be a great (and long) documentary. Going to China? Don't bother taking your credit cards or cash. Want to buy a vehicle? How about from a vending machine?

I was not going to comment on Wells but it would be at the bottom of my list.

The Dimond Branch in Oakland actually was going to charge me a $5 check cashing fee because MY Wells Fargo Account was not in their branch but in the next city.

I was told I could eliminate the fee if I transferred my account to their branch... I said I can do better... severe ties.

Wells also bought the bank that Mom liked... they had signed her up for all kinds of accounts she knew nothing about... it was a big scandal here...

I do like their Stage Coach!
