My mowers keep eating plugs- and having the free time I do, I save a buck and clean them myself. This is getting real old, and I was wondering if I dipped the plugs in diesal, then got some real long pliers, and held the plug at a distence, then lit it up, will that loosen the soot so I can just wipe it off???? Thanks!!

I had a plug eating machine until a young kid at teh dealer asked me why I was needing so many plugs during the season. When I answered, he reached out in the back for a 2 range hotter plug and its now been 2 years since I even thought about it. The plugs would fire out in the open but not under compression. Sort of like they were shorted out. I even tried using my gas wrench to dry them out. The higher heat range solved my problem.
