And to think some people pay good money for vitamin and mineral tablets that contain Zinc. :D

Oh come on. Even in the referenced warning you have to inhale large quantities of it...and the main fix is dilute it with ventilation....say being outside.

So if you plan to have a campfire in your sealed garage, yes you have a problem.

But the real problem here is only city folk would buy these. These, just like those in many parks, do not make for a good fire. If you have to ask why, then you need to get out of the city.

A statement like this can only come from someone that has never experienced zinc poisoning,,,

I had it several times, doing metal work that I was told to do in the US Navy, back in the early 1970's,,

I respect metal fumes now,,, NO zinc coated steel near a fire for me,,,

I've heard of that before; but generally they preburn it and get rid of the galvanizing.
That's what logical people would do. Only common sense. But then again, common sense is a rare commodity these days.

People have died from drinking too much water too. Should there now be a warning label on taps and bottled water containers that drinking water may be hazardous to your health? :confused3:

I like my truck rim; it doesn't burn out. Plus it was free.
For ascetics you can build a rock wall around it so that it looks like a stone fire pit.

Anyone looked at one of these fire rings in person?...I'm curious if there is a sticker on them that has "burn off" instructions...it seems unlikely that a corporate product is not fully covered by warning label legalese ??

Thats what I have at the house an old Kenworth rim. Just got a hole out in the woods with a few rocks around it.

I have two tractor trailer rims welded together that I buried for my bean hole, as well as a single one for regular bonfires.
