Bad Boy 5055CS
I have the 5055CS tractor and use the 12’ batwing clipper. My AC is almost worthless when it’s hot (90+) and sunny. If it’s cooler or cloudy it seems to work pretty good. Is there a problem with it or am I expecting too much? The cab is like a green house or more like a sauna when hot. What are your experiences? Thanks in advance.

I don’t own Bad Boy but my experience is similar, tractor cabs have a lot of window space so bright sunshine definitely cuts down the cooling effects of air conditioning.

Different tractor, but I have to keep the AC condenser and radiators clean as a whistle for my AC to keep up while bush hogging. I take a leaf blower with me and leave it beside the field when I know it is going to be bad. Back at the shop I use an air wand and a water wand to reverse flush everything occasionally. There are detergents to help break the schmoo up when it is time for a deep clean.

The greenhouse effect is a thing. Some guys tint their cabs. I wish I had some kind of window blinds like you see in heavy equipment.

Also you are sitting on top of the transmission which is sub 200 degrees or so while running hard. Engine fan is pushing heat back at the cab as well.

Reported.

...And the 'admins' got it. Which is why there's a weird posting by me here. :)

Massey Ferguson had a lot of issues with their AC systems until the 2022 model came out. Now it's a great system. To deal with the poor design of the previous system, guys would clean out the coils and insulate the lines. This seemed to help a lot from what I read.

Another thing Massey did was put a valve on the hot water line to the cab heater. If that line allows water through it, the AC has to fight the hot water to cool. It has to be turned off for the AC to have a chance. Does your tractor have a valve for the water line to the heater?

Tinting is supposed to help a lot. I have the new system and don't need it, but guys on FB have done it and say it makes a huge difference with the older AC systems.

Very weird. My ac unit freezes me out in 95° weather. I guess KIOTI got that part right. I loves that ac. I had one issue with a wire short taking out the entire ac system while I was mowing 10 acres field. Even with 2 side windows open I was sweating up a storm.

The next weekend I ripped apart all the interior trim chasing wires and found the shorted wire. All is good again.
