I'm going to be getting a Kubota L3800HST soon and now thinking about what Back (Rear) Blades to get. Looks like my options are either LandPride or KingKutter. I'm looking for a blade that is 84" long - has an off-set capability and can tilt (though the tilt isn't mandatory).

By what I can tell - the KingKutter seems to be built better than the LandPride. My Kubota dealer sells LandPride - but the upright portion that connects to the "top link" on the 3PT is only bolted on the LP vs welded and heavier on the KK.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on which one you think is better. I'm comparing these two models:

KingKutter - PRB-84 vs LandPride RBT-15-84

Always go w/ the name brand, Land Pride. Better company and quality.

How long will you keep the RB? Which weighs more? Isn't KK sold at TSC?

TSC wouldn't likely sell an up model such as that.

They are both fine blades, but, you should probably ask yourself "which is the better value?" Just because something costs less doesn't make it necessarily bad and just because something costs more doesn't automatically make it better.

I have used both a KK and a LP. Since neither were offset type, I cannot comment on that feature on either of them.

For that tractor, I probably wouldn't get either, I would go with the Land Pride RB25 at a minimum and really would not want one without the tilt and off set features. Just my:2cents:

In King Kutter, the OB-OT models have off set and tilt.
They also have the HD or heavy duty models.

It's confusing, but KK seems to have 4 levels.
basic
professional
OB-OT
HD series

Not sure I have that precisely right.

Land Pride also makes more than one grade of things. As always, make sure you're comparing apples to apples.
KingKutter Rep posts on here from time and time perhaps he'll join in, if he sees this.

I have the LandPride RBT 3596 on my M7040. it has 3 cylinders and side blades so I can do about anything i want with it. Nice blade.

I have a KK HD professional series and it is quite stout. Look under their pro models.

I have had both and you can't go wrong with either, but remember that each makes several different models. For you size tractor and power I would definitely go with a Heavy Duty model.

LandPride is a much better made product.

I was told that for my L3800 - which is roughly 38 HP - that the Land Pride RB15 series is suitable for that tractor. Unfortunately, I don't have (nor want to pay for) the rear remotes - so having hydraulics on the blade isn't an option for me. I think the manual operation is OK with me and I always could tilt the 3PT if I want to tilt the blade.

I agree with you guys - it's confusing - lots of models and options.

Thanks !

Someone just suggested to me to look at "Woods".

OK - this ought to spark some opinions:

Given everything else equal - which is better: Woods, LP, or KK ?

As I said earlier, statements such as Woods is best, or Land Pride is better, or King Kutter has solid stuff, doesn't help that much.

As a general statement, perhaps, in speaking of the overall quality of any particular company? OK. But one still has to compare specific model lines. Which line (light, medium, heavy duty, professional/commercial) and which specific model? "Everything else being equal" is tough to achieve. Equal what? price? Thinking I'll go eat lunch now. :)

The LP RB15 may very well be "suitable", but the RB25 is going to be heavier and I have found a heavier blade works better for me. If I was going to get the 15 Series, I would at least get the RBT with the manual tilt feature.

Pretty much agree with BPFick as looking at one model and comparing it to another manufacturer in a different type light/medium/HD is going t be misleading.

I have a 7' Woods that has been great. I had a 6' Howse that I broke once a month with my 28HP Jinma.

Woods is good stuff but so is LP.

Thanks. I'm going to check out the Woods line-up and also price out the RB25 series blade from KingKutter. TripleR has a good point - about the heavier blade.

Thanks Guys !

The RB25 is a Land Pride. The RB1572 weighs 269 pounds while the RB2572 weighs 369 pounds. The King Kutter RB72 weighs 270 pounds.

I have a five foot KK and it is not a bad piece of equipment, it just isn't up to the Land Pride/Woods. I have an old Dearborn blade I have used for years, but it is a little light for my 5030 and I too am considering a new blade. We have an old "heavy duty" one at our other farm that I don't even know the name of and an old Woods blade at our other farm that is probably thirty years old and still in good condition though it is starting to show its age due to being left outside.

Good luck.

Yeah - I'm thinking that since the 3PT doesn't have much "downward pressure" - that a heavier blade is the way to go. I guess I could also rig up a way to set some cement blocks on the top of it too for getting more digging power.

I have had both, a 84" King Kutter and a 84" Land Pride. I broke the blade swivel lock plate on the KK with the 8N, re-welded it. Then I bent the whole KK frame assembly with the 8N, left it for junk. Both times I broke the KK I was plowing snow in reverse. I then went and spent good money on a 84" Land Pride, have used it both on the 8N and the Kubota L3940. The Land Pride is a fine product. Buddy has a 84" Woods for his NH45D. It is a good blade as well. 1st pic is of buddy's Woods blade with home made hydraulic angle. 2nd and 3rd pic is of Land Pride blade with home made hydraulic angle. Sorry, didn't want to waste camera batteries on KK. Philip.
