I have a 20 hp yanmar for 4 years and want to upgrade to a 30hp Kubota.

I found a B7800 w/6ft belly mower from a private owner with 50 hrs. He is asking $11,000. I was wondering since the tractor is 3+ years old and such little hours if some of the seals may leak.

I know with cars if they sit for a long time seals begin to leak due to lack of lubrication, is this same issue with tractors?

Also, not sure if the price is a little high, stopped by a local dealer in the Midwest, brand new 2007 - B7800 asking $13,500 with no belly mower.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

A 6ft MMM is at least $2500 so if you add it up you are looking at about $16000 new, plus tax, minus the haggle factor. I would not have any concerns about oil leaks because the tractor has low hours. 3 years is not old at all in tractor years. It sounds like a great deal to me.

Pay the man before he changes his mind. :D

In my opinion, that is a good deal as such. I have the B7800 model and like it a lot.

Buy it, buy it ,buy it. I just spent 17,000.00 in March for a B7800 with a mmm and fel. That puts you at 6,000.00 ahead but without the fel. That's a good deal. Don't worry about the seals. I'm sure they're all tight after only 3 yrs. This guy hasn't even finished breaking it in with only 50 hrs. I would change all fluids before taxing it too much, check wheel torques, air filter, you know the routine. Good luck.

Dennis does the tractor have the FEL? If so that is a good deal as long as there is no damage etc. I have a B7800 with the 5' MMM and it is an excellent mower, very neat finish.

No, it does not have a FEL. If it did, then I would have definatly bought it.
