Hank,

54 inch. I stay small with the equipment attachments. Somewhere, sometime, I may save my back. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I went to the Ft. Worth Stock show this weekend and they only had a B7800HSD on display. No B2410, B2710 or B2910. The dealer suspects that they may be phased out. The spec sheet shows that it is basically identical to the B2910. I see that you have the fold down ROP so you have the mid-PTO, it is an option with rigid ROP. The dealer also quoted about $1500 less than the B2910. The demo model was also equipped with a weight box for the FEL (an LA 402). Overall it was a very nice package, although there is no provisions for wheel weigths and it does not have the adjustable lower links like the B2910. It does have a new feature called the quarter inching valve for the three point which is supposed to give you better implement hookup control.
I am sure you will enjoy your machine for many years to come. How about doing a review for the rest of you you might wish to travel the same road you took.

Glad to hear that you were at the Ft. Worth Stock Show, I worked the show all weekend and missed a fellow TBNer right in the booth. We really haven't heard about phasing out the B2410, B2710 or B2910 models, instead I think the plan will be:
basic tractor - B7500HSD
more features - B2410HSD
basic tractor - B7800HSD
more features - B2710HSD
even more features - B2910HSD.
We do have another B7800HSD in our outside booth

Randy, and ALL,

My first impression with a few hours seat time this weekend are:

The machine is bigger than I thought. Thank goodness, I listen to my wife and got 12 foot gates everywhere. Some areas of the trail system are going to have to be made wider.
I just feel better when I have room to spare.
The machine has some horse power. It IMHO just feels strong on these trails. I feel I have power to spare.

"The machine has some horse power. "

Yeah, about 29 or so /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif . They get close to 40 horsepower from modern 125cc dirtbikes. Course, I don't think they come with a 3-point. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif . J

Well,
It is spring time! So I am tearing into the trees with the B7800. After an hour, I decide to mow some grass with the YardPro.

Not only does the B7800 ride softer, the power steering is a gift from above.

I take back my post *somewhere* about not using the B for grass cutting. After the darn WORKOUT the YardPro gave me.

Ugh... now I know why people fell in love with the BX series!

I need to post some picks of the clearing the FEL on the B did.
I might do some trails after all.....

As he re-thinks his thoughts of dozers and YardPros and.. and..

The B7800 needed a new home, and listening to Spencer and Henro motivated me. HAH. Darn tractor is approaching a year old sitting outside, so about three months ago "Mike's Pole Barn Project" started.

Don't laugh at the time involved or the lack of tools. I do desk work all day, and have only the bare minimum of w/e time and hardware.

My hardware consists of two step ladders, one circular saw, two hammers, an electric varible speed drill and a shovel. Add to that a measuring tape, a level, lots of string, and not much brain power.

The B7800 makes the clear spot for me and up go the poles.

Pole shot notice area is not level

Now comes all the trouble....
A few poles went wiggly on me, I had to dig two out and replace them. Too much rain.....

My other fine cutting tool called a chainsaw really helped me out. The roof went on with only two paper like cuts on my hands. I built the roof from standing on the inside of the structure. Thus, If I fell, I would go straight down, not impailing myself on all the stumps by the sides.

I am almost done now. I need to get the ridge vents attached somehow. I may need to straddle the roof. I may ask for some help. The suffets, I may do in plastic. I need to go visit the depot again this w/e.

Inside shot.

Final stats - 16X24 to the 1/4 inch. 8 foot door. B7800 with folding ROPS clears just right. 8X16 loft area for storeage space.

I'll need stone, stone dust, or if I can figure it out, concrete.

I may rent a mixer, but my problem is still getting the material
to the B'Haus!

Re: B7800 in action! A wedgie?

Upon examining (washing and waxing) my B7800 my left front tire has a nice piece of tree in it by the rim.

Between the tire and the rim on the outside?

Should I pull it? Or let the dealer, look at it when they come get it? I am leaning for the dealer since it needs a fifty.

Maybe I can get some pics..... it has been hard at work clearing stuff. Sigh... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: B7800 in action! A wedgie?

Mike, if it were me, I'd jack it up to take the weight off that wheel, remove the valve core to let all the air out, pull that piece of tree out, clean the tire bead and wheel rim good, and air it back up, but . . . . I don't know whether you have a jack, air compressor, tire gauge, valve tool to remove the core, etc. or not.

Re: B7800 in action! A wedgie?

If you have an air compressor and a bead breaker you would have no trouble getting it out by yourself.

Re: B7800 in action! A wedgie?

My R4s will slide off the rim very easily when the air presseure is removed. If mine are any indication, you won't need the beed breaker.
