I have a B7800 that has been leaking hydraulic fluid from the front axle. I had it in to the dealer a few times, and it is still leaking.
The first visit was a seal replacement, and it leaked within a day or two or getting it home.
They took it back and put a 'speedy sleeve's in, and it leaked again. They also overfilled it with fluid, so I drained some, and put it away for the winter.
It started leaking again, but health issues put me out of commission for several minutes months, and now I am dealing with it again. The dealer now tells me that I need a new front axle case, brackets, seals, etc. for the total of about $2500...
I am a homeowner with a small farm. It has about 1600 hours on it, most of which is cutting grass or running a brush hog.
Does this seem premature? I bought this new 18 years ago, and it has been well cared for throughout it's life. Fluids have been changed religiously, and it has been garage/barn kept. I'm a bit perplexed - maybe I had unreasonable expectations when I bought it.
Thanks for your insight.
