I don't know what the B2900 series filters are.

Attached is a picture of the part that I can't get out. It's the white "circle" dead center.

I would suggest removing the rear filter housing from the rubber hose that comes off the back. The way the filter fits in the housing you will be able to push it out from the end the rubber hose is attached with a socket or something similar. I just went out and removed the filter from my B7500 to be sure. When I removed mine I was sucessful by rocking the front of the inner filter gently back and forth until it finally let go. The fit is too tight to be pulled straight out. Hope this helps./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I know it's a simple matter of pulling the hose off. I had the clamp off a month or so ago and was going to do just that, but the way my luck goes, I usually break something while trying to fix something else.

I'll give it another shot next spring, when the snow is gone and the grass is not ready to cut yet. That way I know that I'll have a month or so to get the tractor back into operation if I screw something up!

You sound like me. I never work on anything on a weekend that I wouldn't be able to get help when in trouble.

Wheeldog, I wanted to change my inner filter too and the dealer said that the inner filter did not need changing. So after checking with other posts here several months ago, I left my on. I have over 200 hours on my B7500 and the inner filter looks sparkling clean.

Hi,

On the inner filter my worry will be the possibility that it might start to break apart at some point. Don't want filter pieces being eaten by my engine!

Just have 126 hours on my tractor so far, so I guess I have a bit of time to go yet before I have to start worrying...
