I have a question, what is the difference between a Kubota UDT oil and a 80-90wt gear oil. I want to change the Trans. and Hyd. Before I do this I want to make sure I am not doing something stupid.:( I am working on a shoestring budget(like out of my pockets:)) Any help will be appreciated :D

This is what I think I know, but I'm no expert. UDT is meant to be more of a hydraulic fluid, where the gear oil is meant to run in axles, such as the front axle of a 4wd tractor. I have also seen gear oil used in manual transmissions on cars and trucks. I don't think they can be interchanged, but I'm not sure.

I would not substitute gear oil for UDT. I'm not that familiar with the requirements of a B6000E, but if it calls for UDT, stick with that. You can buy another brand of UDT as long as it meets the spec, but don't use gear oil.

Service manual says SAE 80 gear oil...9L (2.38 gal). Use SAE 80 in the tiller also. But use hydraulic fluid in the loader.
