Worse?? Wow. Then i would defiantly adjust the timing.

Have you made any progress with your starting issue?
Someone mentioned on this forum that you could hold the key to the right after starting. This keeps the glow plugs energized. I used this method on Saturday and there is much less smoke and roughness. My tractor had not been started in two weeks.

I haven't started the tractor in a couple weeks, but I've got to move firewood this weekend so I'll give it a shot.

Keep in mind that if the tractor is under warranty, any changing of the timing by the owner will void the warranty. Is that something you want to chance?
