I just bought a set of 2 link chains for my tractor's rear tires (turfs) from tirechain.com. I was planning to install them as a weekend project, but after placing them on the tire to check the clearance, it looks like I'm going to have about a 1/2" of clearance between the chains and my fender.

I was planning on reducing the tire pressure, putting the chains on and re-inflating to get a tighter fit, but with only a 1/2" of clearance, I thinking I may be wasting my time.

Based on your experience, do I have a prayer of making this work with a 1/2" of clearance or should I bite the bullet and make arrangements with the dealer to get spacers?

Any help would be appreciated.

When I contacted tirechains.com they recommended a minimum of 3" clearance. This sounded excessive, but this is what they said. Therefore I chose a different option. 1/2" sounds a bit tight based on my experience with another tractor with similar chains as yours.
