You will not be sorry.
I have about 312 hard hours on my L-39. I find that the L-39 could have more power, bigger rubber and another 1500 lbs, but I would NOT want a larger tractor, just heavier duty.
Weighted and outfitted without operator my L-39 weighs in at +8,100 to 8,300 lbs. This is a nice balance of heft and power. The hoe still moves the machine all over the place digging and I can still lift the machine out of the places I manage to get stuck.
I have been busy so I have not posted much.
Over the last 2 weeks 1500 yds of material went down in our road.
That's a lot of dump truck loads! At least the basement hole is roughed and the ridge is knocked down a few feet.
Sunday night we bounced down the road in my F-150 for the first time. 2 years in the making! Did it twice.
Next week I will spread & grade 110 tons of top coat. I should give lessons to our town hi-way department.
I estimate the L-39 spread and graded at least a third of the 1500 yards. I will post in the projects section as soon as I have a slack day.
Size and ability are a constant compromise. My little
B7200 is loaned out digging a pool area and my wife wants it back for her garden.
When the
B7200 dies, I will not blink in getting a similar sized machine. You can buy a lot of rakes hoes and shovels for the price of a tiny CUT, until you get the bill for one back surgery.
I hired out a lot of excavator work before decided to by an 18,000 lb Komatsu.
This should cut the hired out site work to only the real heavy earth moving.
