Hi,
I'm looking at a used B1500e for sale by the original owner. The tractor is in pretty good condition, appears to be well taken care of, about 760 hours, is supposed to be a '91 or '92 model.
It's 2WD, has no power steering, comes with a 54" MMM that was bought in 2000. Also has a 4' Bushhog shredder, which is in good condition, and a 48" Bushhog tiller, which is in OK mechanical but not great cosmetic condition.
He bought a quick attach Westendorf loader for it about 3-4 months ago, and this is included as well. I don't believe this has been used much.
The tractor starts and runs good, both ranges shift OK. It has a set of turf tires mounted on it, and he has a set of mounted ag tires that are part of the package also.
I'm intending to use it for some dirt work - spreading dirt and gravel, and for tilling the garden. Will probably use the shredder to maintain about 2 acres of pasture. I realize what the capabilities of these small tractors are, and I'm not intending to abuse it by trying to do things it was not intended for. I have a larger tractor without a loader for doing heavy stuff.
I've checked with the original dealer who sold it to him, but unfortunately their records are now computerized and only go back to 2000. I was concerned that it was a grey market tractor because it was listed as such on Kubota's site, but the serial number tag is in English, and he has the original manuals, also in English. Any other things to check to verify this is not grey market? And if it is, what are the implications - dealer support, etc?
The seller is asking $6500 for everything, not sure if there's any negotiation room there or not. He did say the loader was about $3300 when he put it on.
Does this price seem fair, and are there any concerns with this model Kubota?
Thanks for any advice,
Andy Janca
