Guys, I just tested my new non-swiveling sheave. I think I fixed it!! No, I didn't have the pulley at home but still a successful test.

That looks good, I'll keep my fingers crossed for your test out success !!

Oh, I forgot to check my springs on the MF 2340 Dozer Blade, to let you know what size they are.

I think you'll be ok with that flat strap, plus it should have a larger breaking strength then the round synthetic line.

Seems I got the flat belt sheave grief fixed so yes, I got it together and tested today. Day off the trails for me! As seen in the front photos, the sheave is adjusted to one side a bit, which helped to keep the belt centered.

I also ordered the original trip springs but it is functional now. They're suppose to show up on Tuesday, but we have little snow in the forecast.

For breaking the cable or straps when lifting (example if your neighbors having problems) why couldn't you attach a spring in between the cable end and plow. Maybe the old springs off the trip part. That way instead of breaking cables or bent/breaking parts, a spring just stretches out and is the give in the system.

Yes that would work, but the issue is the operator's finger staying on the toggle switch to, toooooooooooooo, long and the spring would be useless...

Hey ArlyA,

If appears you have solved your problem, but if you think like me, I just have to refine it and build a better mouse trap...

It looks like your sheave is not parallel with the horizontal bar of the brush guard in your center picture, and the brush guard should be parallel to the roller fairlead..

Maybe you could make find adjustments with the angle of the sheave and hold it in place with a vise grip on each side, and if/when you do find the "sweet spot", you could drill a 1/4" hole next to sheaves mounting bolt and install a bolt to hold that position.

This may work if there is not much side to side play on the plow blade.

Just a thought, again.

Gentlemen. I got the trip springs Jerry rigged so as to run a test and stiffer than earlier attempts. Sorry that I did not get a picture of that setup. Test run photos by wifey cam.. I like how it worked!

But the cake is baked and the frosting is on the cake, now all that needs to be done with the frosting is to just "smooth it out a little" !!
