I planted some asparagus crowns 10 days ago and they are going like gangbusters. I’m backfilling the trench about 2-3 inches a day the past few days and some shoots are 3-4 inches taller the next day.
Try some of the purple variety. I planted my bed about 15 years ago and they produce every year. (Eating some tonight). They are sweeter and more tender than the green varieties, but turn green when cooked. They don’t get as woody as the green types.

Mr Fuller Good Morning the local weather reports you are having a hot time in Arizona. They seem amazed that the temperature can reach 113 without roasting everybody.
I told a few about our experience rebuilding the telephone line along the pipeline toward Needles Calif. Dodge trucks at idle and the temperature gauge readings were in the red all day long and at night sitting in Motel it still was in green the next morning.
Visiting Death Valley at a side-of-road table, my wife opened the lunch box and removed sandwiches for the kids and as they were eating the sliced meat dried with wrinkles and the bread turned into dried crust. a couple riding motorcycles stopped and visited they were spattered with oil dripping from the engines. also wondered if they would continue to run.
Read that Your greenhouse was doing as you planned
Health here has returned and 2nd 3 monthly check-ups will be next week think the cancer is gone
The place looks abandoned with weeds and brunch growing in fence rows. A young college student stopped and offered to clear the fence of the growth told him to is a total of one mile around the fence and almost as much along the road. He said would figure out the cost and so far has not returned. Sure not going to pay California Hamburger wages to do this cleaning.
Guess as in the past a spray of round-up will do it.
Have several calves in the field but they stay away from fence wiring the owner had used an electric fence charger. hot wire when they were younger.
Trust your health and family are all good.

Ken,
Doing well. We have 4 of our grandsons here for a week, so I am quite busy trying to keep up with them. They are now 17, 15, 13 and 11.

Glad to hear you are feeling better!
Yes, it has been hot here. Low 90’s, but at least it cools down to 58-62 at night. Unlike the Phoenix area where it stays hot all night long.

On Thursday I finished the joists and on Friday we attempted the OSB sheathing. Trying to position the first panel, a gust of wind came out of nowhere and lifted the OSB, the ladder and me. Fell about 12 feet and spent the night in ICU at Flagstaff Medical Center. Fractured 6 ribs, so the project is on hold for a month or two. Extremely fortunate that I didn’t break my back or get a head injury.

Mr.Fuller How well I know the out of no where the "dust devil" winds blowing. While working at the Pumping Station East of Seligman. our 2 kids and a datutsan dog were in the play ground swinging. this "dust Devil blew in and spun our children in a circuler fashion and then they jumped off the swing onto gravel but by then it was gone. The gas turbine back ground noise was over 100 Db's kids ran screaming toward the house. could not hear them. Be carful working by your self. and the building is looking good. ken

Good Morning Mr.Fuller
Think that we are both old enough to know any ladder will slip or move cause an uneasy enough to be extra careful climbing over 6 feet.
I have carried an aluminum ladder with a wide base a short rope to tie to top to keep unpleasant effect to take place.
Then, look around for someone younger to climb.
so far it has worked well.
My wife was talking to friend and there was a clatter she heard on the phone with the friend saying her husband had fallen off the roof cleaning gutters. then dropped the phone.
we drove to there house and he was sitting on front porch the ladder was still leaning against the wall a scape or arc on side of building showed the ride he had had. Now 20 years later still see the arc . ladder made good fire wood.
News saying that the Grand Canyon was flooding. thought this was the reason it was developed many Eons ago.
For my self spending my time getting ride of out side junk metal and then have moved trailer inside the tractor shed to load what had considered spare parts

gave away the 450 and 4.51 mowers both New Holland had a sale price on it no one even looked.
plows and disk going to load on trailer for salvage.
In my lifetime have gone from horse-drawn farm equipment to this GPS type where can sit at home and look at screen where it is. running on its own.
Is this about the completion of your building the "retirement home."?
Stay healthy it surprises every one.

“Completion”? My wife says it will never happen. I’ll always come up with something to build (garage, shed for backup genny, tiny home for guests, etc…….

It’s been a week now and today I was able to dress myself, from tee shirt down to lacing my boots. Good progress. And I just walked a mile or so down the road.
Of course I’m still on pain meds, so we’ll see how that is affected in a day or so when I start weaning myself off of them.

I ordered the metal for the roof so I’ll need my two helpers to get that sheathing on this week. I’ll be hard at work sitting in a chair, or maybe in the tractor seat. 😄
