But did you INHALE?

By the way, during the process of finding the rust in his tank, we asked him how he usually fueled his tractor and his answer was he used METAL fueling cans but continued to blame us for the rust in the tank.

This is "NOT" a misspelling... It either happened or it didn't...

I've stated my side of this and I am moving on. I do my best to treat all of my customers with the care and respect they deserve. I again state that I did everything in my power to make this customer happy and it didn't work out. He has found a new tractor that I truly hope serves him well. Branson is an excellent piece of equipment and everybody should own one.

I was trying to be gracious, and allow for a retraction.... So much for that...
I have NEVER owned a metal fuel can... and most likely never will.

Anyway - how did that much dirt get into a fuel system in 3 hours of run time?
Clean fuel, new fuel filter, new injector pump, freshly cleaned tanks... yet after 3 hours the 2nd lift pump failed.

How good are the fuel filters on the Branson's is the question.... On the 2019 3520R Branson has gone to a different fuel filter system than they had in 2015.
Was this required due to inadequate filtration from the paper filters?
What is the nominal micron filtration rates of the filters vs the size of the injectors?
Should we be adding additional filtration to the tractors fuel system?
Has anyone taken a fuel sample after the filter and had it analyzed?
I have 1 micron filters I can push my fuel thru if required, but I think the injector outlet size is going to be around 12 - 15 microns. (just a guess)

Anyone have any ideas or knowledge?

Do you know for a fact the tank was cleaned? Unless the fuel line itself had sand in the **** thing, how could this have happened unless the tank wasn't cleaned or the fuel filters are completely worthless, as far as I know this is not common so the filters probably work.. New everything and a cleaned tank and three hours later the IP goes south, Defective IP's possibly, it's a mystery...

I PM'ed you by the way..

I been keeping my fuel in a 30 gal metal drum for the past 4 years, wonder if I'll get rust in my tractor's plastic tank...................

I agree with your mother, I dont like it either, then again I dont really care much for change........

I STILL wonder where was the fuel filter in all this? I think it's the smoking gun.

A metal fuel can is just fine as long as you always keep it full of fuel. Let it stand around for a few years empty.... That's another story.

I get a kick out of reading 1 star business reviews on a Google search. What you often find when you check on the "one star" rater's rating history, they tend to give out just either 5 stars or 1 star. Not many 3 stars from these guys. Not sure how some people's mind works. Life is either black or white for them, no such thing as grey. Truth has many sides, just depends on what side your standing in how you perceive it. As a result. I don't put too much faith in a single person's good or bad review. If there aren't a good number of reviews, the reviews are worthless.

I've read this entire thread and one of the main problem seems to be "rust". I too question the fuel filter effectiveness but as to how/where the rust is coming from: " I have made nearly 20K gallons of home brew BioDiesel..." That struck me as a possible fuel quality issue. Maybe there is a point of contamination in the home brew process. I really don't know but I think both parties in this discussion have maintained pretty good decorum when compared to some internet slug fests I've followed. Good Luck.

Sorry for the confusion... The BioD ref was to show knowledge of filtration and fuel systems...
My last BioD was made back in 2010, my friend retired from his restaurant chain and I lost access to the fryer oil, ending my $1/gal fuel.

My diesel tractor has only had over the road diesel in it, fill the containers at the same time I fill my Ram.

Do you buy fuel from the same place? How often had you replaced fuel filters before you started having problems? The dealer says the filters fell apart in his mechanic's hands. I have seen some really dirty filters in past years but never have seen one that was close to falling apart..
