auto connect midmower drive instructions

I bought an X734 John Deere last summer.....the deck is a 60", and the auto-connect unit was an "add-on"......I got no instructions on what to do with it in the fall when you disconnect to install front PTO driveshaft for the snowblower. I did decide to not only disconnect it, but remove it for winter.....would be nice to have the instructions w/photos on how to re-install it in the Spring ....can anyone help?

Bummer. Should have a manual with the deck. They can be purchased on line, or at your Deere dealer.

it's hard to find these instructions. removing the auto pto is a good option,
but it can be done without.
there is a hook on the right front side of the transmission that you can hang
the auto connect pto shaft on to get it out of the way of the snowblower front
pto shaft


then there is supposed to be a small "C" clip to hold the lift arm assembly up tight
to the tractor frame . (you can also use the highest mower setting)
this "C" clip is on the left side , outside, of the frame just in front of the left rear
tire. it should have a small pin with a circle ring on it to pin it to the frame once it's
holding the lift linkage up.
(sorry i don't have a picture of that)

I have the manual for the deck....not much there.....the auto connect was an add on, not with the deck

Don't know what a tambourine thumper is, but proud to live in Temperance, MI., and to have taught/coached at Bedford Public Schools, 11 time state champions in wrestling, and 3 time state champions in volleyball.

Don't know what a tambourine thumper is, but proud to live in Temperance, MI., and to have taught/coached at Bedford Public Schools, 11 time state champions in wrestling, and 3 time state champions in volleyball.

Back when the "Temperance Movement" aka "prohibition" was in full swing, the ladies would stand around with banners and thump on there tambourines to get peoples attention.

Great school for sports. I thought Midland was big in those sports. I guess just in hockey.

Just curious....how do you know that....hadn't heard that, and I went to Bedford....moved there in 1962.

Dutch.....where did these photos come from.....my dealer helped a little, but not like this.....were there more photos/instructions related to this...pix of the whole unit, coupler itself, and under the tractor???? Again thanks, Edd

Just curious....how do you know that....hadn't heard that, and I went to Bedford....moved there in 1962.

I had a cousin who wrestled back in the 60s before going to Nam with the Navy as a PT Boat engineman on the Delta where his boat was blown up while he was down below. He spent over 6 months in the hospital and was really messed up when he got back home. Chased his wife away and took to the streets on a motorcycle. He used to curse the Midland boys for always beating them when they went to state if I remember correctly.

Edd they are just captures from the manuals for the autoconnect and the
front pto kit. (dealership employee) . it wouldn't be a bad idea to have the full
set of manuals for your equipment, some are online but not generally printable..

That's what I'm talking about....I have the manual for the front PTO kit, but got nothing on the autoconnect...did find your photo of the latch plate in the Front PTO kit manual. Just would be nice to have whatever comes with the autoconnect kit....you get something on the simple stuff like the clickngo wt. bracket, the front hitch for the snowblower which is simple....we're talking about autoconnect, where you could drive over the deck and screw something up if you haven't got everything set up right. I haven't been able to get what probably came with the autoconnect kit. My dealer sent me some stuff, but not really what probably came with this unit????
