Attachment storage

My plan is to build a open storage shelter that has the racks shown above. Then put everything on pallets and use my tractor with pallet forks to put them on the shelves. Too many projects, too lazy.

If I need to remove something off my 3pth so I can use the hoe and it will only be for a short time,(couple of hours or days) I often hang a chain from a woodshed roof and lower the implement unto it. This way I can swing it back into place and line it up when I go to re-install it.

I'm fortunate to have a lot of room for storage in my barn,

Even with a lot of storage pallet racking can allow more cubic feet of usable space.

I've about 16 "sections" of pallet racking, each section 8 to 8.5 foot "wide" and most about 42 inches deep. Heights range from 8 foot to 12 foot, with most 12 foot. Most are configured with the first shelf off the floor being about waist high for working level, giving plenty of storage underneath for implements like my tiller, rotary mower, plow etc. I have not yet had to put an implement up on a shelf, but the beams are good for 3,000 or more pounds.

That's my plan also, I've been looking for some surplus galvanized pallet racking so I can store my implements outside covered, but prices are so darn high compared to the $10 I paid for the 4 level section in the picture.

I was thinking 3 sides covered with roof, pallet rack inside.. I have a bunch of Gravely attachments I would like stored. I would sell the Gravely stuff but am hoping kid (middle daughter) will want it if they move back west in next few years.

I know how you feel, SJay, - some of these "storage sheds" are big enough to have their own zip code

Mine all sit inside. If I don't have room for them inside, I don't buy them. Heated, A/C'd etc.

I don't particularly post pictures of my place. Its 36x60 and 2 story with barn style trusses on it. My buddy built it like 6 years ago. I'm in Northern Wisconsin, so snow, and moisture are horrible here. All summer long, we get heavy dew, so anything sitting outside is wet all night rusting even in the summer months. You can imagine what its like buried in snow…..
