Ash trees

This is in reply to DocHeb and thought that I woudl move this topic to here instead of replying in Kioti under "still together".

Hmmmm that doesn't sound too good to me DocHeb but I guess my next question is what can a person do about it now that it is infecting the trees? Thanks in advance and talk later

There were a few articles in the Detroit News describing how prevelant the fungus diseases for trees (Sycamore Blight, Oak Wilt, Ash Yellows, etc.) were the last two years because of the wet springs. The gist of the articles was that there isn't a whole lot for a homeowner to do except keeping the tree well watered during dry spells, don't prune while leaves are on the trees, and fertilize in the spring. Conditions such as drought, soil compaction and having open pruning wounds stress the trees and make them more susceptable to diseases.

Thanks DocHeb and will check out the site your posted. Excellent option with the bats but I'm afraid there may be to many for my needs. Anyone want some bats? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I talked to a forester friend of mine last night about the Ash tree problem. He told me that Ash Yellows is a blight that affects Ash trees usually along a road or stone walls first. Stressed trees are usually affected first. Thanks for the web site info.
