Anyone recognize this part

Seems like Ive seen something like this before, I believe it is only a small part to a much larger machine. It fell onto the floorboard from Im assuming the underneath of the dashboard of my Ranger last weekend.

It is quite heavy for its size, I believe it to be quality steel because of its weight and the fact that it hasnt started rusting even though its already been thru the washing machine.

Any guesses?

When you say Ranger, is that a Ford pickup or a UTV?

I'm headed out there now to where the truck is so I'll check it out I didn't even consider that it was actually something that was part of the truck

Everything seems fine with my truck so who knows I guess where it came from

Strange that you found it on the floorboards. I'd think if it fell out, you couldn't shift.

Are you the original owner of the truck?

Do you have any friends (or enemies) that like to play practical jokes?

Ill have to check it out again next weekend. I did not have any issues with shifting this weekend. I only use it to pull a water tote around the property.
