Anyone GREAT w/Electrical Troubleshooting? GT275 Quits When Parking Brake Released

I've read several threads about these start issues which often end up with the seat switch being the culprit.\

This issue has been going on for some time. This machine has a new PTO clutch. I replaced the neutral start switch as well, to be proactive. The seat switch tested bad; I replaced it and the continuity checks per the WSM are good. However, with the plunger depressed and the ignition key in the run position I am not seeing voltage at all. I have even uncovered the pink and yellow/black wires close to the circuit board and don't get any voltage there either.

The machine starts and runs fine. I can drive it around, so long as I keep some pressure on the brake pedal. What might I be missing?

It is possible your new seat switch is defective, you could have a bad connector, its wiring may have been rubbed bare at some point and shorting, or mice have been chewing the wiring - just a guess.

I believe I found the problem, albeit accidentally.

I was underneath the tractor, cleaning, and noticed a rod that was not connected to anything. It is #9 on the diagram attached, and slides into #5. The hardware to secure the back end of the rod is missing. When I manually place the rod into the hole (ha ha), I can start the tractor and it runs with the parking brake disengaged.

I may have missed a description of this part of the system when I was going through the WSM, I suppose. I will need:

- Sleeve 24M7100
- Plus a cotter pin and washer
