H'lo all,

Has anybody out there had any experience with power-harrows? You know what I mean, right? A rotary, vertical-tined clod-reducer, maybe? I'm looking at getting one to replace the functions of a rototiller (reduce clod size, turn in green material, uproot weeds, prepare seed-beds, etc.) on my mixed-vegetable farm. These implements are very uncommon around here, but they sound great from what I've heard. Anybody out there own one?
Thanks!

See? No response. Told you they were uncommon. Kuhn makes one, as do several Italian manufacturers like Tortella and Amazone. Actually, you can see a cheesy marketing video of the amazone power-harrow at work on YouTube. They're great machines, but notorious for demanding high horsepower. Maybe I'll be the lone power-harrow owner on the forum!

Sold some that work a little different then the style you mentioned but found the tines to wear quite fast although they looked to have good quality steel. They worked back and forth across the width so the machine might lift up when hitting stones instead of pinching them between! The rotary in this area with the stones we have would be as much of problem as a tiller. They work great when we have cleaner soils that have been picked well of the stones.
