Seems like a lot of waste of time and money compared to buying just a few extra feet of hose. lol
Hundreds of feet at 17 dollars a 20 ft stick
In the original post did you mean to say you wanted the spigots on the perimeter only?

Assuming you could spray a few feet past the end of the hose, 6 would be your minimum, for keeping all spigots at the perimeter:

Can you tweak that to put one in the middle of each short end and space the two along each long side so they all overlap?

You could do what I do and just use longer length of hose. I have three hoses connected together and I can reach any spot on my 2 acre rectangle from the back of my house.
