Any feedback on a Ford 8240A?

So I am considering this tractor again:

Is 8160 hours on this tractor about time for some major repairs or failures? It also does not have AC, never came with AC from the factory. Is that a costly addition to add in the future? Everything else on it looks like it was taken care of from what I can see in the photos and they did send me a video and it sounds like a tractor for 1995 but my ears arn't that trained either.

It is an SLE meaning it has the 16x16 powershift transmission. If it was well taken care of, this would be a good price. Looks pretty nice in the pictures.
A/C will be expensive to add and would probably need to go aftermarket system

If it is an SLE it will also have the closed center load sensing hydraulics. Just be aware that it can cause difficulties in some situations. The one that springs to mind is that an older JD pull type forage chopper built for JD closed center hydraulics will take out the pumps in a load sensing system without the proper modifications.
I am surprised that it doesn't have AC that cab will be an oven on sunny days year round, and it will be hard to remove the humidity from in the winter.

It's an SLE. The E has multiple meanings. Extensive Expensive Electronics. 8000 hours tells me it's been through some problems and changes in the electrical systems. They were no bargain to begin with, and probably won't be all original at this age. Then finding someone with any experience working on them is another challenge. Most of the switches, sensors, and such are still available. (at a price) The controller may be a different story. There was a place in Canada that could repair them, but that was some years back and I don't know if that is still an option, or if anyone else still does that. Without a functioning controller, the tractor is yard art. You might give that some thought before making a final decision.

Thanks for the feedback. I know it would only be used for a few hundred hours a year, if that but I'm also trying to look for just a simple tractor on the inside with heat and ac and not all the other electronics. I was really trying to shoot for one with a cab but it may just be out of the budget or I just need to keep looking.

A simple tractor without all the electronics. This isn't it. The same tractor in the SL model would be far closer.

It is on the low end as far as pricing, but that area can be much less then the eastern states.
Many of the North East dealers bring in many Mid Western tractors to sell as the pricing seems to work for them.

Basic manual synchro transmission that is really good. This tractor is the opposite end of the spectrum vs the SLE you were looking at as far as electronics and reliability.

They will ship it to me for free (from Colorado to NY)...just seems to good to be true. They said they would need 50% down and can finance the rest through them for upto 5yr's at 3%...

Thanks auction info. The new hollands are 155hp and are too big. The JD 5410 looks a bit rough and looks to had some extensive welding done to one of the loader arms.

Just did a bit of digging on New Ag talk, found an interesting thing.
From the ad you had;

Then from another search;

Same name and address but different contact phone number;
google street view doesn't show any equipment on their lot. Might want to try the other phone number.

What a person could do would be after verifying that it seems legit on a land line phone would be to do a video call on a cell phone of them walking around the tractor while talking to you, have them put their hand on the exhaust manifold then do a cold start live and listen to it then have them drive it and operate the loader with you on a live video call.

Yeah, I was thinking a phone call with live video of the tractor or at the very least a video with todays date written in somewhere with the cold start.

I know someone that lives in Denver...haven't spoke with them in about 20 some years but heck, maybe they'd go check it out for me lol. Although, I could use a mini vacation and a roadtrip would be nice.
