Another tooh bar question?

I recently got a new toy (wife's words) 85HP JD with a FEL. Do I really need a tooth bar with this much HP?. Seems to dig okay so far. MY IH Bachhoe is 45HP and there has been ONLY a few times the teeth would have helped. One more question this thing is 94" wide can I use my 6' box scraper with it? They want a arm and 1/2 leg for a 8' one. Anyone ever added a section to one??

Do you really NEED a toothbar? Probably not. Will it make a substantial difference in the performance of most loader operations, certainly will. If your loader digs pretty well now, it will dig much much better with a TB. If you've ever tried to pick up an intertwining load of pine straw, vines and roots and had it just push off the front of the loader, you'll be extra happy to find that a TB helps to pick it up and get it into the loader without having to get off and help stuff it into the bucket.
There is no reason at all you can't use the 6' scraper on that tractor. All most people are concernec about is whether it covers the width of the tires. Is your tractor wider than 6 feet? John

Yes, It is 94" nearly 8 ft. That is why I'm concerned. After reading the other posts. I was thinking about just adding a 2 foot section to it. or just making another one.
