Another small update. I installed the last of the missing sheet metal,(10ga). The side cover by the controls, the plate above it and the hood. Still need to put the gas springs on the hood.

I am getting close. I need to make some pins for the clam cylinders and rebuild them while I have them off. I have to make some ripper teeth, change oil in the final drives, put a seal kit in the injection pump and make some injection line clamps. Also make one more steel tube that feeds the clam cylinders.

Compared to what you have already done, that's a pretty short list!!!!

Since it is good weather I have diverted my efforts to doing stone work on my house. At night I have been digitizing old photos and I ran across my first restoration and the tractor that stared my business. Doesn’t fit the brand we are discussing but I thought it would be interesting.

Eldorado Stone is very realistic and what we used on our home built in 2018, but I understand they have stopped making stone.

I just bought some last week and ordered some that came in also. I haven’t heard anything. They also photographed my fireplace for their next brochure. I switched to their products because it is much denser and has fiber in it, many more molds. This is my fourth new land fixed house and the last. Too old.

Did you sell the backhoe when you where done with rebuilding it?

I enjoy installing manufactured stone. When I first did it, I used mortar to attach it, but I never cared for how easy it is to remove them once the mortar has set. Now I use Tile Thinset and I install them the same as I do tile with a half inch notched trowel. You have to destroy the stone to get it off!!! I also like to use half inch Hardie Backer boards over the OSB and House Wrap. I'm thinking about putting Redgard on the Hardie when I do it again. I cut the stone with my 4 1/2 inch grinder most of the time, but my tile wet saw does a much nicer job for those more visible areas.
