I guess I still don't get it.

Where are the icons?

Are you using the full WYSISYG editor? Check in your "my home" settings.

As for the spell checker, I use the Google toolbar and it has it built in. Misspelled words have a red line under them similar to when you are using MS Word.

OK now I found that in Google tol bar, must of had that before, I don't keep that tool bar active all the time, to manny tool bars now.

I don't use a spelling checker. It won't pick up differences like gage/gauge. I prefer to use gage when speaking of an instrument and gauge when speaking of shotguns.

Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
